More than an hour a day of listening to your MP3 music may be harmful for your ears. This is the finding of a group of scientists. The EU Scientific Committee on emergin health risks studied MP3 usage. They found that using the iPod for an hour a day for five years could make one in ten listeners deaf.

The problem is not the listening to music but listening to it too loud. The limit on MP3 players in Europe is 100 decibels, however even a sound of 89 decibels regularly listened to is devastating to the ears. In tune with these findings, Britains Royal National Institute for Deaf People has a “Don’t Lose The Music” campaign.
Well you would argue that research is not always true. The iPod has been around for a long while and there are many people who listen to it regularly. This idea has not seen the light among them …there has been no talk of iPod users going deaf. So this research could be a lot of goobledegook but I for one am not going to take a chance.

Listening on a lower volume is a good idea folks.
