The iPod generation is seriously addicted. Perhaps the addiction is good in the way that music is good for the soul. Earbuds are now a part of the experience of youth. The Blackberry Thumb has been followed by the iPod ear. Hearing loss induced by loud music is a painful reality for hundreds of iPod listeners. This has been corroborated by doctors who have seen young people with symptoms of hearing loss – symptoms that usually occur much later.
The iPod as well as music systems that are turned on loud are to blame. To be fair even driving in heavy traffic and loud television are culprits in this crime. Although the Sony Walkman was earmarked as a machine that would give rise to similar issues, the next gen MP3 players are something that are different in many ways. They have long lasting batteries, so even listening to music directly in the ear for a long time at a moderate volume may produce disastrous results.

The recession has led to a lot of changes. One of these is a search for new ways to earn revenue for the government. People who download music onto their MP3 players may soon see a tax on their downloads in addition to the amount they already pay. Governor David Paterson has put forward a proposal to levy what is now being termed as the iPod tax. The tax amounting to 4 percent on MP3 downloads is meant to ease the huge budget crisis on the government’s shoulders.

iPod enthusiasts have yet another toy to consider buying – the Maranz Bluetooth Dock for iPod.This new product from Home Entertainment Peripheral Maker Maranz America may just become the rage among iPod peripherals. The model number is IS301, the price is $250 and the release…umm the bummer is that it is not in time for christmas. Yep the information right now is that the IS301 from Maranz is releasing in January.
