Direct Downloads From The Internet Now Possible For Your Ipod Touch or iPhone
Posted on 2008 under Software |1 Jan
The iPhone and iPod Touch are great internet tablets. They make surfing a breeze. Whether it is going through Portals, Vortals, online forums or shopping, it is fun surfing with that lovely Apple device. However there was something missing. I always wished I could download that amazing web onto my iPhone.
My wish has been fulfilled. There is now a plug in for the iPhone’s Safari browser. This is courtesy, by the way, of iPhone hacker hachu. This plug in is really amazing. Using it you can download a MP3 file to the var/root/Downloads directory of the iPhones local disk. This takes it one step ahead of just streaming/playback.
Instructions for plug in installation are available at Hackintosh http://www.hackint0sh.org/forum/showthread.php?t=18060. When a link to a media file is clicked, after you install the plug in, there is a green Download button displayed. In addition, you need to do a bit of .plist editing as well.
Check out the Hackint0sh forum to find out how to install and use the file. It’s pretty nifty!
