Apple Inc is in talks with DoCoMo Inc Japans largest cell phone operator. The subject of discussion is the launch of the iPhone in Japan.
Steve Jobs, Apple CEO recently met with Masao Nakamura, President DoCoMo according to reports. The iPhone is to be launched in Asia in 2008. Two companies are in the race to market the iPhone. These are DoCoMo and Softbank Mobile Corp.
While DoCoMo is the leader in Japan with more than half the share of its market, Softbank is the third largest company in the field.
There is a stumbling block to Apple’s deal with DoCoMo. Apple want as much subscriber revenue from DoCoMo as it gets from other carriers. Although the subscription revenue that carriers in other world markets share with Apple is a secret, it is said to be between 10 and 13 percent of the monthly fee.
This June, the multiplier effect phone was launched in America. It has a touch screen as well as iPod, cellphone, digital organizer and wireless internet features.
The iPhone made it possible to have complete access to the internet wherever you go. It has also simplified the IRL social life.
