It seems that the iPod is not just limiting itself to solar powered bra’s charging it. Recently in a new patent filing for the iPhone and iPod, new technology has been described that will make “Green Earth” people happy.

In the patent filing, a process has been described that talks about using solar cells for power. This is a step that will make the iPod’s popular media player all the more popular.

The patent filing describes how the solar cells would sit below the LCD touch screen of the iPod. This gives the solar cells ample charging surface space. Also the delicate solar cells would be protected in this manner.

Not just this, the distinct iPod style statement would remain untouched. Power issue would be solved by incorporating solar cells in the iPod. In addition the hassle of iPod charging is done away with once and for all. The date of launch of the solar iPod has not been talked about.
